I’m a YouTube junkie. I watch YouTube videos anytime and anywhere, lol..
Most of the knowledge I’ve gathered about makeup and beauty over the past years has been from watching videos of talented YouTubers and personal experience.
So, I thought it would be nice to share with you my favourite dark-skinned YouTubers and what I like about them.
I think you’ll love these fabulous Vloggers too!(I’ve left the direct links to their channels)
In no particular order, they are:
1. Alissa Ashley:
Her makeup tutorials are totally BOMB! Especially her cut-crease looks, which are on a totally different level. Plus, she has these Brush Bootcamp videos which are thorough makeup teaching sessions. If you’re a beginner, you’d find her videos really helpful.
2. Toni Olaoye:
This cute Nigerian vlogger makes every makeup look seem so simple(like it’s no biggie, lol), even with the most complicated looks. Check out her videos here.
If you love beating your face to the gods but acne won’t let you be great, she’s your girl. And she gets it done without breaking the bank!
I totally love Jaelyn! Her skin is so beautiful and her makeup is always on fleek. What I love most about her is the positive energy she radiates and how she motivates her subscribers with quotes and words of wisdom from her life experiences.
5. Destiny Godley:
She was the first Youtuber I ever watched. Who said you couldn’t slay because your skin is just too dark?? Hair, makeup and even fashion, Destiny got you covered!
6. Jennie Jenkins:
(Or Beautybyjj) You probably know her for her wig game. Aunty Jennie can slay a wig, just as much as she slays the face. If you have hyperpigmentation, she also shares skincare tips that are really helpful.
7. Jackie Aina:
Jackie is as blunt as they come. Her beauty reviews are totally honest. She keeps it 💯. And slays while at it.
8. Uche Nwaokocha:
I recently discovered her and I’m glad I did. I’m in love with her complexion game(maybe because she’s close to my skintone, I really don’t know). She’s such a highlighter junkie and her eyeshadow tutorials are very helpful, especially if you have hooded eyes.
If you see her face once, you’ll have a hard time forgetting it. Because it’s such a strikingly beautiful one. I like her because she doesn’t follow the rules. She does her makeup exactly how she likes and what works for her(which I think is really cool).
10. Shirley B. Eniang:
Her Vlog is so holistic(she does videos on makeup, hair, fashion, lifestyle). There’s something for everyone. Her videos are the kind you can tuck in and watch back to back because she has such new and refreshing ideas.
These are my top 10 favourite YouTubers. I like them so much and I’ve learnt so much from them. Who are your favourite YouTubers? I’d love to check them out!
